Sherman Cove is onboard NAS Pensacola. It is just west of Admiral's Island and certainly the closest launch to Pensacola Pass. Next would be Grand Lagoon Yacht Club (must be a club member), maybe a mile further West on Gulf Beach Highway, then Big Lagoon State Park another3 miles west on Gulf Beach Highway.
Next probably a tie between Navy Point, Galvez Landing, and Bayou Grande (again onboard NAS Pensacola). Big Lagoon State Park and Galvez landing can be tricky because they are right on the Intracoastal Waterway near deep water so the tide can really be ripping sideways right at the ramp. Jim

Somebody on the boat must be active duty, reserve, or retired military (Some sort of military ID is required). First time you go watch somebody else go out, especially from the west side,... It gets REAL shallow real fast over grass flats that are tough to see early morning or with an overcast.

According to the website a DOD ID card will also work.

DOD=Department of Defense
An employee directly employed by the DOD, (aka,... "on the dole") Just kidding... :shedevil:shedevil Civilian employee of the US Government in the DOD. I'd guess the NAS Policemen and Firemen are good examples, but there are a lot of other jobs on base too. Jim

Yep, Common Access Card (CaC, or smartcard) is the defacto ID (except retirees). They have the status printed on them (military, civilian, contractor). They also usually have a colored band as well denoting status, but newer CaC's are getting away from that.
