Default RV campsites near Navy Pier ramp

Unfortunately my father passed away last month. He loved to fish, especially in the gulf. As a retired CW4, he liked to camp and fish from Sherman Cove and we camped on the base. Well, now that Pop is setting up a bait shop in heaven, my brother and I (true civilians with no Military privileges) are forced to re-think how we would do our fishing trips out of Pensacola. We have a slide in camper and haul my Triton 22 LTS behind down from Cleveland TN.

Given that brother Phil and I would still like to hit our spots off PC, could someone recommend a couple of decent "civilian" campsites which might be convenient to Navy Pier? Dad taught us to love fishing.... We still gotta go

:usaflag!

Thanks!

Grand Lagoon State Park, just a couple of miles outside the back gate of the base with a fairly decent boat launch.

Is that the same as Big Lagoon State Park? If so, it's a great camping area. Have prepared sites with fire pits and a clothesline. Boat launch is nice and since it's $4 for non campers and theres a free one right down the road, it doesn't get too busy.
