Sweet. I'm sure you rigged it with braid and a mono top shot, is that right? What kind of braid?

Good luck with the new combo. I love jigging. I don't have a fancy jig setup but as much as I like to do it I ought to come off some $$$ for a good combo. Let us know how you like it after it has bloodied the deck a few times.

I've been jigging before & love it.Just used my buddies torsa/trevala combo & there was no way I was going to drop $800 on a jigging combo. I have 100lb powerpro on it with mono backing & going to use a flouro 25' wind on leader. I bought4 williamson jigs 2 different sizes, & 2 other jigs (can't remember the name brand right now, I'm at work). What are some good alternative for the shimanos?

Sounds like a good match to me. I use about 3 feet of 40# leader unless kings are thick, but let us know how the extra works. I like the real shimano jigs the most, specifically the 200g long jig they seem to have the best action and the sharpest angles. Williamson long jigs are good too. I don't like the smaller jigs too much, long jigs only for me. Also, I only use assist hooks with wire, i don't see a reason to not use it. Post a report when you go.

Has anyone bought any jigs from http://www.shulure.com/products/before? I know for a while he had to stop selling them. Does anyone know if he is selling them again?
