Default PM-3 Bonber

I had to go to West Marine today to pick up some parts and as usual did a bit of looking around for new stuff. They had a couple of Bomber PM-3 poppers hanging on the lure display and I thought what the heck, just a few bucks and the lure looked like it would pop well.

Well I got home and tried it out on a few different rod and reel combinations. My go to dock rods, Stradic 1000 and Diawa 2000 on Clarus rods were the first I tried. Neither of them really had the retrieval rate to pop the lure effectively but I did draw a strike from a Cormorant and a buzz by a Seagull. Luckily both missed the hooks.

I switched over to a Stella 5K on a jigging rod and that lure came to life. I'm going to buy a few more of those Bombers and keep them in my travel tackle bag. I'm pretty sure they will be deadly on chummed up fish, around the rigs and off the dock when the Red Fish and Speckled Trout start running the sound again.
