Been looking at getting new line on my trinidadsfor jigging. I have heard some good things about the OTI depth marker line but my jaw hit the floor when I seen the price on it. 174 dollars for 600 yards of line is a little excessive. Is this stuff worth it. I was also thinking about Tuff line as well which seems to be a little more reasonable.

You can't go wrong with Tuf-line, or anything made by Western Filament for that matter. go with the Tuf-line.

I also like the Daiwa braid as well but it is a little more than the Tuf line but not as much as the OTi

The good thing about Tuf-Line marker line is it is marked in feet not meters like the overseas brands are.

the OtI line is great stuff. its nice and soft and very thin for its strength. that being said it is best to use two hundred meters of it as a top shot and fill the rest with tufline xp or JB solid. I use it on my deep jigging setup when i want to see how far ive dropped. its easier to use visually than the daiwa boat braid because the boat braid has markings every five meters and it gets distracting. the Oti line is on par price wise(and quality wise) with the other premium Japanese pe lines. i would recommend the Oti line just not 600 yards. if you are jigging that deep you are my HERO!!!
***you could also top shot with the daiwa boat braid, varivas or Galis YGK. they are also nicer lines to work with. Andrew |
