heading out to try our hand this week on a little bottom bouncing and never fish out of destin (always OB)is there a bait boat out there? Where is the best place to catch bait in the pass w/ saibikis. any help would be much appreciated.

On Sunday early, we caught all the bait we needed (threadfins, horse herring, and cigs) right in front of Destin Marina (north side of Destin Bridge). They were schooling and jumping like crazy all the way up to the ramp and in the little harbor for the condo n of the bridge. It was sure nice to be heading out with a full well by 6:15! The herring and others are schooling north of the Bridge, all way to out the Pass. You won't have any problem seeing the schools. Just be out there before 7. The boat traffic will put them down by then. By the way, if you're bottom fishing, we have had caught the majority of our fish on the threadfins. They are outfishing the cigs about 10-1!

Yep, keep your eyes open and you'll see plenty baitpopping the water in the earlymorningsfrom Crab Island all the way outside of the Pass = threadfin & hardtails. Carry LOTS of sabikis.
