Besides a knocker rig, if the boat is crowded you might want to stick to a "fishfinder" with the weight below the hooks as this is less likely to get tangled with your neighbor. If you're tangled you ain't fishing (such insight the man offers). Also take some live pinfish if you can. One of the most important things is to drop as fast as you can when the cap'n signals. First bait down usually catches something pretty quick, but it gets crowded after that.
<U>If the captain allows</U> I would take some wire and cigars along to set out a flat line after you get your limit of snapper. Position yourself near the back corner to do this as the current will take you away from the boat. Don't drop wire down to the bottom, you're really better off if a king cuts your line while you're down amongst the rest of those lines. |
