Default Catching Red Snapper on charter boat (Relentless)

I'm bringing some rods my Dad had GLS 45 and Shimano 6:1 . But what rigs should I use? egg sinker with circle hook? Any suggestions? Thank for the help upfront

egg weight, swivel, leader out of 60 or 80lb flourocarbon ( i like long leaders of at least 6 or 7 feet), and a circle hook to match the size of your bait.

Thanks.. Have you ever tried fishing the water collom with 1 or 2 ounce egg weight next to hook?

no i have not. when snapper are skittish, IMHO they see the weight and shy away from the bait. that is one reason why i use a long leader. but there are occasions where it does not matter. we were catching them this weekend on a jig with a steel leader trying to hook a king. i am just stating how i fish for them.

Looking to catch bigger snapper for group fish fry....Thanks for help...It been a few years since I have been snapper fishing. I use to go out of Pensacola with my Dad , Paul Bond... Some people might know him...

I appriciate it.. So basiclly how you fish for Grouper... Thank You for your reply I will go home and make some tonight.. I probably should use 8 oz or more of weight?

depends how deep of water you are in and the current. the current was ripping as bad as i have ever seen it last friday but i think it has gone down some from what i heard. maybe someone that has been fishing this week will chime in. 8 or 10 though would be my starting point but go as light as you can in my opinion.

yes wecall it a knocker rig and you can bust their ass with them.
