I am just getting started with offshore fishing and was curious if anyone has recommendations on a good monthly magazine to suscribe to (other than this forum).
Thanks |

I am a long time subscriber of Marlin and subscribed a couple of years ago to Florida Sport Fishing. I pick up Sport Fishing and Saltwater Sportsman only when I see something of interest.

I get them all and Sport Fishing by far has the best, most detailed how to articles. Florida Sportsman has the most local knowledge articles about Florida saltwater fishing including articles specific to the Panhandle. Marlin does have some good detailed bluewater articles. Big Game tends to cover the Northeast. Saltwater Sportsman has become better than in the past with more detailed articles. The mags have gotten thinner, with fewer meaty articles of late. Advertising revenue must have fallen off. Get them all!

Gents.....I have read alot of these listed here and even have subscriptions to them. But I have seen the light and have to say that the best I've seen is "Bluewater Magazine". It is from Australia, but I have found it at Barnes and Noble before. The only problem is that is bi-monthly, and is almost $15 an issue. Well worth it. Good articles from all over the world and geared towards bluewater/pelagic fishing.
Anything with fishy article is good in my book! |
