Default Where to go sharking in Pensacola

Just looking where i might find some bigger sharks in Pensacola, ive been fishin off the bridge going into pensacola beach & been catching a few 3-4 footers, but somewhere 5+ would be a lot better. I know some people fish on the beaches off those houses in Portifino, but is that legal? I just don't wanna get into any trouble. And if so, how would you get in there? Thanks

I dont know what size gear you have, but try down off Ft. Pickens Road accross from or at chicken bone beach. Either side produces good size sharks. You might need something to paddle your bait out in Kayak, surf board, etc. The other places are the parking lots past Portofino on the gulf side completly legal. Good Luck

Pretty much anywhere on pensacola beach.I have been going past portofino to the right trying to find spots where there are no people. I catch lady fish and hard tails with a heavy sabiki rig, then take them out on my kayak about 200-300 yards and drop it. I have a very long wire leader with two hooks, and i tie a brick to the swivel with 10 pound test line so the bait doesnt come back to the beach with the current. and when the shark bites, the 10 pound breaks and leaves the brick. I have gone about 5 times this summer and caught a shark or two every time. we caught a 6foot 6inch bull shark the other night and just yesterday i caught a 6 foot nurse. The main thing is getting the bait out as far as you can to where the bigger sharks are. good luck hope you get one!
