Went out sharkin this morning, almost unfishable. The slime (weeds) were so thick they would collect and wash the line down the shore. Some of the retrievals were almost a good of a fight as a shark. I would guess about 40-50 lbs of slime on each line per 2 hours out. Anyone know about how long this stuff hangs around?

That slime has been keeping me from shark fishing since mid july. If you run into the slime on the beach then mightwant to go over to the north side of chickenbone beach. The water there gets deep pretty rapidly and you won't have to fight the slime. I've heard you can catch good size sharks there too. I've never tried to shark fish there but I'm sure someone else on here can tell you more about it. It's a long drive from Johnson's Beach but at least your trip won't be ruined by green goo.
