Default Shark Report

Here is Fish-N_Agg's Report

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ^^^^^

Well Jim and I got down to the water and set up around 9 this morning. We took 4 pieces of jack out then caught some mullet to take out on 3 more rods. Shortly after setting up Jims family shows up and we start killing whiting and sandtrout. Around one we still have not had a run when one of the mullet rods was picked up and dropped and shortly after another rod took off and slacked up. After a short bit I jump in the kayak to see that one of the rod that had been hit had no bait. Once rebaited we sit and wait again. Well we didnt have to wait long. About 2 one of Jims rods gets hit and we are finally hooked up. In the middle of the fight one of Jims sisters yells at me that my rod is going off. When I get there it slacks up and my other rod next to it goes off. I get the hook in this fish and start to fight it in. About half way in my rod that had just gone off goes off again and is screaming. I hand the rod that I have off and get the hook in this fish. SWEET we have a triple hook up. Well the rod I started with is the first one in with a nice bull red.

The final angler with his catch. This pic doesnt do this fish justice, it was one of the nicer bull reds I have seen.

Well they get the fish back in and I look down to see Jim running for another rod and the one he just got in with blacktip on the beach with mine about half way in. When I get mine in close I notice that now there is someone else hooked up. By the time it was all said and done we had 4 blacktips on the beach between 4 and 5 feet long and our first time to have five fish hooked up at once. Unfortunately 2 were gut hooked so they were kept for the grill.

The end result with what I believe is all of the anglers involved.

Now it is about 3 and I need to leave in 30 minutes so I start to pack up when Jims other rod starts to get messed with. His sisters start to reel it in to check the bait and end up with a 5'5" blacktip on the beach.

As I am getting in my truck to leave I see my avet that I was going to leave for them to use goes off and I jump out and get the hook set. Unfortanately the hook pulled about a 100 yards off the beach.

Last time I talked to Jim they had caught 3 more blacktips between 5 and 5'6".

All in all a good day on the sand.

HECTIC... in a good way!!! Great report; doesn't look like there is a shortage of blacktips... noted. Beautiful red too. Congrats to the team.
