Default Pensacola Beach

In a nutshell I was only able to keep 2 Pompano. But I have never caught so many different types of fish in a single morning before. I caught lots of Catfish , a Sail cat , Whiting , a small Blacktip , overslot Redfish , Ladyfish and 3 large rays that I had to fight for an eternity just to recover my line. All caught on sand fleas. The only pic taken was of an oversized red.

Sounds like some fun fighting that Redfish! I always hit the beach before daybreak to have a better chance of getting one. Only thing that I'd do different is, there is "no" way I'd just have my rod handles stuck in the sand like that. I've had my sand spike pulled over before and chased a rod once when I forgot to adjust the drag on it. But at least you had fun and plus you got a couple of fillets for dinner!

Tight Lines!

The rods are not actually just stuck in the sand. I pound my spikes down quite a bit to avoid them being pulled out. I would hate to lose a rod.

Those are some camoflauge sand spikes. I didnt see them at first either. I was going to be impressed if you caught all those fish with the butt of your rods shoved in the sand. Nice fish.
