Hit the beach this morning around 9:00 to a red flag.I went toward Pickens gate and set up in an area that looked to have a little hole. There were a fair number of terns diving in the general area, and I got several bluefish on finger mullet but nothing else. The tide was on it's way out, and I decided to find an area with more water depth. I drove past portofino and set up on the downcurrent side of a point. I was hoping the depth and point slowing the water would have some fish holding in the area. I managed to rake up 2, and only 2,sandfleas. Both fleas were bitten in a matter of minutes of being cast out. 1 bite I missed trying to rake more fleas, and the other turned out to be a nice black drum. I managed one more black drum on fresh shrimp and a few more bluefish, but that's it. Headed in around 12. With the rough conditions I was really hoping for a nice red...maybe next time. All fish released so you and yourscan catch them. Only saw 1 other fisherman, and I saw him hook up only once. Tight lines everyone.

Right on Jason. Glad to hear you caught a few. We need to get up some time. I haven't done any surf fishing in a while!
