Default Navarre Beach 3/1

Flipper and I hit Outcast yesterday to get some setup'sfor him - I mean from rob butt to jighead and even a tackle box. Rigged up his poles last night and got a late-ish start on Navarre Beach. When we pulled up a fella was just pulling in nice pomp and when we chatted with him he gave us the spot as he was outa bait.

Set up 5 pomp rigs and frozen shrimp at -745 and fished to 1030 with 3 nice whiting to show for it. SLOW between bites. Beautiful day out there and the water is getting warmer.

Was out therea little earlier and stayed to aboutthe same time, and all I did was drown bait. Not a bite. But it sure was pretty.

Those are two beautiful pictures. I love the one with the fish busting the bait. One question for stressless. Were you using homemade pomp rigs or premade ones? I haven't surf fished since I bought a boat but I used to love to walk the beach with a five gallon bucket with some frozen ice in a bottle that would serve as a portable cooler. Just take one light spinning rod with a small slip sinker and fish the washouts. Take some jigs for spanish and pomps but mostly I would catch whiting which is my favorite fish to eat. To me this is a lot more fun than soaking baits. Just something you might try in the future.
