I'm taking my girlfriend's little brother out this afternoon. I'm not sure where we'll hit the water, probably just scout until we find something. Anyway, I drive a gold Toyota T100. If anybody wants to meet up, feel free to stop by. Report to follow tonight.

Matt and I set up on a nice washout around 1 o'clock. We were using fresh shrimp and trying to rake some fleas. First cast, Matt hooks a nice ladyfish, which we saved for cutbait. Over the next couple of hours we landed a dozen or more bluefish on ladyfish strips, and caught a wide variety on the shrimp. The shrimp caught fish were 2 pomps(1 spit the hook on shoreand flopped back into the water), catfish, a small shark, and a few 'mystery' bites. As sunset approached the whiting bite turned on. As a side note, Matt got a new surf rod and reel for his birthday and this was it's first trip. His new rod hadn't gotten bit a single time, and we figured it was the new gear curse. Back to the whiting...we decided to cast his newsurf rod in close in an effort to at least catch a whiting. Next thing you know the rod doubles over with a fish that's obviously not a whiting. A few minutes later a nice slot red hits the beach. We finished the trip around 5:30 with a double on whiting. Final tally: many, many bluefish, 6 or so catfish, a couple of pomps, ladyfish, a small shark, and 12-15 whiting.Here's a few pics.
