Default East of Portofino 11/30/09

Went out east of Portofino monday morning. No fleas to be found other than a few small ones. Got out and set up right at 6:00 a.m. at 7:00 had something cut one of my rigs off. A few minutes later I caught a cow nose ray. That was it for a long while. I knew high tide was around 3:00p.m. so I just hung out and kept fishing knowing the pomps would show up. Nice waves on the inside of the sand bar. Perfect weather, warm and sunny. Right at noon I caught my first pomp. Soon after that I had one get off. Then caught another and then another. Caught all 3 between noon and one. Left soon after 1:00pm when the bite stopped. The storm clouds were making it to darkfor the pomps to see I guess. Anyway it was a long butgood day.Cant beat sitting on the beach in board shorts and no shirt pomp fishingthe lastday inNovember. Water was super clear and there was a little grass but it was mostly all clumped up and did not present any real problems. Will try to post some pics later.
