My best advice is to pack light, carrying the essentials and "read the surf", don't dwell on the desired results, butderive your pleasureon the event itselfand your surroundings. Enjoy your company.

Typically I park and look for a hole if there is one close by. Watch the waves break and the direction they move in. Where they don't cap is deeper then where they do. Where you see them going diaganolly to the shore (but not wind driven)is a slope. The dark stuff is seaweed which will hang on your line. Your rod tips will keep measure with the breaking of the surf and go spastic with a fish on.

I have caught pomps in 2 ft of water 15 yds from shore with pyramids too light to hold the current so they rolled in with the surf. Also get emwith tremendous blindcasts to god knows where.

Hope for fresh fleas but they will hit shrimps too. If y'all have a short attention span. set your lines out, check em every 10-15 mins and with a lighter setup cast a pomp jig around.

Just when you get bored a fish will strike, and you will always be another 20 mins away from a trophy. Its about the journey, not the destination man. Good luck and post your report.

Because of this post I went from never catching one to at least 3 every time durring the run. Look at those pics and find something that looks like it and you will do fine.
