My brother, a Marine, just got back from deployment in Iraq. I took him to Pcola beach to try for some Pompano. We caught five! Took them home and ate them that night. We fished east of Portofino. Caught all fish between 3:30 and 5:00. I saw no other fisherman out there. Odd for such a beautiful day.
Caught all pompano on sandfleas. |

Nice catch Randy, however, I will be damned cause we went out the day before and caught a freakin catfish and you go the next day to the same place and do the same thing and catch those, at least you are sharing.

![]() I fished at the blue "X". Portofino is located between the yellow lines. Some people fish in front of that, however, that is a prime spot for tourists. I wouldnt fish there. I always try to park on the side of the road along my blue line. If you keep heading east you will find parking lots and more areas to park to the side of the road. I believe all of those are good spots for fishing as long as you cast between sandbars. To get to this road... just keep going straight after the beach toll. The road will curve left (east). Just follow it and it will take you along side Portofino. |
