Default shark fishing

i have a nice heavy pole with an 8500 and wanna catch some shark this summer..dont really care the size just wanna get a few decent ones....wat bait? and where?...i was thinking the bay sie of chicken bone beach or just off the pier....im taking a hike out to the pass and also wanna know the best spot to fish from there just casting. The cu8rrent sems like it would wash your bait up in certain spots....just give me the easy method to catch 4-5 foot sharks...thanks for...and any rigging advice to...i was thinkg just egg sinker and leader with a circle hook

Im not from that area but if you can get your hands on some bonito,jackfish or mullet you will be in good shape.Be sure and use a long enough leader,I make the leaders for my surf rods at least 6 foot long.For my big shark reels I use 10 foot of cable attached to 10 foot of weedeater line and 14/0 j hooks.The sandbars are so shallow where I live they are hell on your line.
