ffice ffice" /><o ></o ><P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">How many people use heavy gear when fishing the Gulf. I am talking about heavers. Rods like Ocean master Cape Point Specials and reels like Penn 160,545T,113HLW ect. This is the gear that I currently have and am using and will continue to use. (I have lighter rods for smaller fish). I just don?t see many rods being capable of throwing a eight to twelve ounce sinker being used out in the gulf. I used a OBX fish finder rig to catch a 25? redfish on one of my last outings. <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">EK

You can use it here no problem. just throw shorter.
Most folks just don't have the need to chuck lures and bait as far down here as up in the Banks. That and the water's warm most of the year so wading out isn't as bad of an idea. |
