Default new to surf fishing(equipment)

I am new to surf fishing and would like to ask is there an all around size hook for surf fishing or different sizes needed for different types of fish. If so i would like to know the hook sizes that equals the type of fish i may catch from the beach. Thanks for the imformation and the replies.

Default RE: new to surf fishing(equipment)

I'm really afraid to answer this one as many people have many theories(and favorites). Here's what I use.

For Pompano. I use a 1/0 or 2/0 circle hook. If they're running big or the redfish won't leave me alone, I'll go to a 3/0. I've caught some rather big redfish on that size along with Pompano.

If the Bull Reds are running, I'll go to a bigger hook on my heavy rod; all the way up to a 7/0. JMHO C2
