Hello Everyone,
I'm new to surf fishing and new to the forum. I'll be in Navarre this weekend and I'm bringing my kayak down and wanted to try some fishing off the beach. Any suggestions on what to target and methods to try? |

Welcome! I'd first have to say, I'd get a bigger boat! JMO. I know there are a lot of guys that fish the Gulf from a Kayak, but for me, in that water, I prefer to look down on the water below, not have it rubbing my elbows! Fresh bait is the way to go, but I would be careful with the bait leaving a scent for things to follow you when you're out! That's what some of the attacks have been from, them smelling bait or just being curious. I hope you do have a great fishing trip with no problems!
Tight Lines! |

Thanks for the advice. I agree with you on the fresh bait. It would be best to use it but not from the yak. Guess I'll try some spoons and other artificials.
