Question Need family fishing trip help

Just moved back to Pensacola after retiring from military and want to take my three boys surf fishing this weekend. Have not been around here since the Ivan and Katrina so I am not sure where to go any more. Looking for some advice on where to take my boys and what species to target for some family fun. Not sure if surf fishing or one of the bridges (Three Mile or P'cola Beach) would be best.

Would appreciate some advice!

Thanks

I don't surf fish, so no help there but you might want to scroll down and look in the surf report section. Hope ya find some. Good Luck.

I would suggest down by fort pickens (Gulf side) there have been nice Reds, Pompano, and black Drum. Use a 2-4 oz. pyramid weight and a double carolina rig (some type of double rig). Use fresh dead shrimp.. Cold front may slow it down a litte bit, but they are running out there..
Good Luck

Half-Hitch has pretied rigs for surf fishing - sheepshead and Pompano. They are life 3 dollars each. Use those with sandfleas and peeled shrimp. That would probably be your best bet.
