Default What is it, again?!

We caught these a few miles offshore on the bottom, believe the nice triple chrome plated one is a ribbon fish, what a bite he has, the red one was about 7" and also had one heck of a set of teeth on him, we caught several of them between 3-7".

Any ideas on what it is. Thank you for your help, just trying to see what we are getting into and if they are worth it as bait.

how would you rig that for kings, put a trailer hook into it? would you troll it or just live line it?

Ribbonfish AKA cutlassfish or silver eel on top. Second is a razorfish, pearly or pearl, I think. The razorfish can put a severe nip on you, if you're not careful. It's a wrasse.

We caught quite a few wrasse one day bout 5 miles out of Santa Rosa one year. They have the whitest flesh, almost crappiesk.

King candy is what the top one is. Trailer hook and slow trolled is the easiest, but you can live freeline them over a wreck about 35ft under the surface.

The bottom fish is common in the mediterranean waters and is DELICIOUS to eat! The ribbonfish is also common in italian waters, not sure how good though, but i do think i've seen it on the market before.

You use a trailer hook just like a stinger rig but multiple. I have used 5 on bigger ribbon fish.

The wrasse is slimy and difficult to hold onto. One latched onto my father-in-laws finger once providing me with some prime entertainment. I've used them for live bait an I don't think they've ever lasted more than a minute before something grabs it.
