Fished Saturday with the club out of Galvez. Wind was blowing but still a great day on the water. Managed to get 2 nice specks (no Pics). First one of the morning was on topwater on Old River about 18" and then nothing. Headed over to Big Lagoon to work some docks and get out of the wind and struck out. The club had a side fish bet for spanish and figured i'd give the flats on the south side of the intercoastal a try. Wasn't therebut about 10 minutes and picked up the a 1lb 2oz spanish. I figured maybe no one else would catch any so I threw it in the box. While we were out there drifting I noticed 2 boats drifting a point. they would drift and then motor around a drift again. We had only caught schoolies at this point so when they left we let the boat drift to the area they were in and WHAM. On a suspending mirrorlure I caught a 4lb 2oz beauty (that made my day). we drifted a few more times and picked up another keeper then headed back to the launch.

Back to the spanish. It happens that one other guy caught one and it weighed 1lb even so I won the side bet by 2oz's and won $48:clap

If you go the www.pensacolaspeckledtroutclub.com look at photos and the onethat won big fish was 4.8 and was about the same size.

Oh well $48 bucks is better than nothing.
