Default Slot Red in Sound

I went out for a few hours Monday afternoon before the front came through. Thought that I would see if the trout had showed up yet. Started by catching about 10 catfish (on live shrimp). Caught them on every cast - on the bottom, free-lining, and on a float. However, on the last cast, I caught a 22" red. Thought that I had yet another catfish. No trout.

Congrads on the red, we were out Saturday morning, fishing for reds and could only catch white trout. We were doing ok the whites had some size to them. Thenthat cloud cover moved close to midday, everything stopped biting.

We packed it in later planning to go back out Sunday but didn't make it.

When catching a bunch of cats I usually move, but in your case you hooked up on a nice Red, great job being persistant.

I've been looking in the sound around Navarre for trout. No luck yet. Good catch on the red. Your report is encouraging. Way to go! :clap

I have a friend that gigs flounder a lot. He says that he often sees catfish feeding under specs, catching the bait pieces that the specs drop. I was hoping to catch some specs above the cats.
