We were trolling in Pensacola Bay on Saturday evening (1-12-08 just as the sun was dropping off of the horizon) at about 3.2mph according to the GPS, hopingto catch a late evening Grouper using a MANN's Stretch + Imitator Jr PINFISH on BERKLEY Big Game 30lb clear fishing line rigged up on a PENN 320GT Reel. One thing about it, I learned never to underestimate a small reel again.</DIV></DIV>We were in about 16 feet of water, traveling East along the Fort Pickens shoreline, and was about 300 yards East from the Fort Pickens pier when WHAM I thought my lure got hung up on some bottom structure. The only problem though was when I stopped the boat, line started to peel away. Thank goodness I had the drag set on my reel. (That's a good reminder for everyone...always set the drag to keep from breaking the line).</DIV></DIV>About an hour later I landed the six footplusSand Shark which had hit the artificial lure...I never would have dreamed that I'd have caught a shark that size on an artificial lure. If you zoom in on the photo's, you'll see the lure still stuck in its mouth. The lip of the lure (where the line is attached) broke off when I pulled the shark into the boat, and he landed on it (while I was scampering to get of the way of the shark).</DIV>

We got a small blackfin on a stretch during the '06 pirate tourney in the bay. Figured it would be a winning fish till we saw what it was:banghead Never know what will hit one and I guess ya found out. How'd he taste by the way?
