Default June 27th Report Seagrove Beach

<SPAN class=postbody>Took the yak back out on Friday. We went out 4 times. The first time was my girlfriend and I. we were out for awhile with no bites and decided to head back in. as we were heading back across the bar saw a little king or big spanish heading by 5 seconds later he hit. Ran for a second then nothing. First trip out without catching a fish. Later my dad took me back out we were out for about 15 minutes and bam fish on. Got it back to the beach another 15 to 18#r . Got more video of this one but it's on my sister in laws camera so I will have to wait for her before I can post. Did get some picks I will post later today. My dad and brother in law went back out for a while. No kings but they got a Spanish and chicken dolphin. Both were released. Later that day my dad took the 11-year-old out again. About 30 minutes later we saw them chasing a fish around out there 150 yards off the beach then they came in and we help them get out of the yak. The kid had the biggest one yet on. I have a POS scale and it said 28 but I think this fish was bigger. We got video and pics. I will post later. All in all it was a good trip total tally

Off OPI pier
2 - 8 to 12 # bobos
1 - oversized red fish
1 - 8# king

Out in the yak

8 - 12 to 30 #kings
3 - Spanish
1 - chicken dolphin 16"

I have been seeing a lot of yak activity off the beaches of s.walton and am glad your efforts are paying off. That is some cool stuff and great fishing.

over here in navarre beach ive gone 2-3 miles off, and troll king dusters with live/dead/frozen cigs or hardtails, and just a plain stinger rig....if your lucky enought to have a special big fish bag you just slide them in it and your good, if not you just sling em up in and either take it to shore or just keep it by your feet and splash water in it ocassionaly.

We had a 2 man yak. The person in back did the fishing. All we did was take one rod with 20" leader and treble hook with a frozen cig and toss it out (probably about 20 or 30 yards) Set the drag really lose and stick it in the hole in the bottom on the yak. we slow trolled the cig. paddling every few seconds.it usually only took about 15 to 30 min before a fish would hit. had on skyrocket on the bait one time. To land the fish we had to fight it all the way back to the beach. The person in front would paddle back in and the person in back would fight the fish. Once we got them to the beach we got behind the fish and grabbed them by the tail. That seemed to be the only way unless you have a gaff. but that would still be tuff to get a fish that big in a yak.it was a lot of fun fighting those fish from the yak and when we got to the beach. the coolest thing was watching those kings riding in the waves on the way in.
