Default Hot Spots Charters Inshore Report

Had a trip today with a group from Wisconsin. Needless to say they have been enjoying our mild winter. They showed up in shorts! I know it's not very cold but I'm not ready to break out the short pants yet.

We ran into a school of bull reds chasing bait as we rode through the bay and took advantage. Laser tails on jig heads worked fine and we boated several. After the reds calmed down we went in search of a few sheepsheads. We caught a few nice ones for the cooler.

Had a first today. Never had a dolphin grab a hooked fish in the bay before. I've seen it offshore many times but never had a dolphin give me any problems in the bay. Had a dolphin take 4 sheepshead from us today! Hope this trend does not continue!

Matt,

yesterday we had a dolphin take 12 sheepshead from us. We had a great afternoon bite, however, the last hour of our trip was unfishable even though we were hanging sheepshead every drop. I told my clients this was the first time I have ever seen this in the bay. I hope this does not become an issue...
