Default Great night Sat on East Bay

Launched at 6pm caught several ladies and a Spec on gold spoon, then moved over to the power lines and the reds were THICK in the coves and biting on live shrimp on the bottom, caught about 10 in about an hour around 7pm, with one keep 21" and a close 17" that I threw back and a bunch of rat red's.

Sweet!

You going to fry or blacken it? I need to go catch a few and get the skillet hot. There were either reds or specks bustin' bait on one of my spots this morning, but I didn't have a rod.:banghead

David just let me know when you want to go, I am available Fri. night, Sat (day or night), or Sun. let me know ahead of time because someone is always wanting to go with me.

Native, I was in a rush, that was only the second Red I have tried to cook and eat, so I put him in the skillet with WAY TOO MUCH Tony Cacheries and it wa just so damn hot you couldn't eat it, made me madder than hell. So I got some balckening spice to day and will do it right next time.

I enjoy your east river reports. That sure is a fishy looking area. Next time you are in Pensacola go by Joe Pattis and pick up a bottle of Chef's Grill Plus. They have it in several flavors, garlic-herb, mesquite, habanero [my favorite], and lemon pepper. It is a thick paste that you just spread on the fish. You don't have to toadd any thing else. The stuff is unbelievable. Also great on whatever you like to grill. Thanks for the reports.

LOL Sand, yea I was thinking the same thing. I had a slow start, just started salt fishing serriously the first of this summer but I LOVE IT ! I go out at least twice a weekend, sometimes more, and I wondered when I picked that name what I would do if I got better.

One I think the rough wind and weather had them hold up in the coves, two I think the dirty water that finally cleared up yesterday had them hungry as hell, because they were not hitting lures, only live shrimp.I will be surprised if I can duplicate my results next weekend.

But I am hoping with the oncoming of cooler weather I might possibly be able to change my name by next summer.
