Default Garcon Point Bridge Jan 11

Went to Garcon Point Bridge today. Got these two reds by trolling deep diving Yo Zuris behind the boat. Both came in 12-13 feet of water. I had a bucket of shrimp to entice some sheepies but they wouldn't play. I think I may have needed to use more weight to get the bait down in the wind. I tried around the I10 bridge and a little in Mulat Bayou but I didn't get anything at either place.

The small potbellied red weighed 14 pounds and the other was 15. The 14 pounder fought 3x as hard as the 15 pounder.

Nice! They both look very healthy and well fed! Great job. I miss living/fishing over there! Nice looking sled too!

So funny, I'm supposed to be looking at the fish, but all I can think about is all that room to walk on the front of that boat and a chair to boot! That's the good life.

@jflyfisher, the water is really stained but I wouldn't say muddy, but no visibility. Low to mid 50s water temp.

Hey everybody, thanks for the compliments on the boat. I used to fish out of a bass boat but got tired of not having any room to move around or carry all the gear I wanted. The boat is an aluminum Ranger RP190 with a 115 Merc on the back, no carpet and comes with a cooler and center console arrangement. I upgraded the hand operated trolling motor to an I Pilot type and added a power pole, also. Top ends around 44 MPH. They are available locally in FWB but I went to Cabelas in Baton Rouge to pick it up last year. It was cheaper to buy over there and the Ranger dealer here hasn't had any issues with servicing warranty issues.

Congrats on the Reds. Fooled me, thought it was the front end of a Robalo Cayman. Sweet ride!
