Default Freak waves inside the bay almost crash our boat! Caught on Video!

http://youtu.be/ekPUOT0yhLE

We almost get wrecked on the rocks as a series of waves come out of nowhere and smack our boat. I almost fall out and so does my fishing buddy.

WARNING: LOTS OF SWEARING IN THIS VIDEO!

Pretty tense stuff there.

Those freak waves in the bay come from freighters. They will be long gone before you see them. They displace so much damn water when loaded. I was hit by some of these in my kayak one night after a freighter had passed almost 15 minutes prior. Took me a minute to realize where they came from. I've seen this at the marina down there several times.

I see you are a Foley guy, I live in the area as well.

Yeah I figured it was a ship wave. We are lucky we didn't get washed up on the rocks! I can only imagine what it was like in a Kayak!
