The forcast to go offshore today was just to much for us to chance. Hooked up the flats boat for a day in the pass. We were able to net some LYs on the back side of Ft Mcrae. The weather was just perfect for fishing the pass. Out going tide 4 or 5 mph wind out of the NW. Donald, Tim and myself made up the motely crew today. The anchor was set in 24 ft and about 150 ft out from the south jetties. Our count on keeper flounders were 7 with 19 released. About 10 of them were 1/4" short. A few undersize groupers some very large pinfish (bait stealers) and now it's time to clean. I hope this flush of outgoing flounder will keep up for awhile. See you all out there next time. Gene

Nice ones. Not doormats, but perfect for stuffing / baking. Enjoy your bounty.

Good report, we went out on Sunday and they were thick. My Uncle James and I caught 10 keepers and probably released 75 small ones. It was every cast as soon as your minnow hit bottom you would have one on. The only hard part was wading through all the shorts to find a keeper. We were catching ours on glass minnows.
