jeff nikki and myself left the dock at 1130am to find a stiff east wind and a bumpy ride to the bridge. after an hour of anchoring casting reanchoring and casting the wind died as it switched to the southeast.
we then moved to the east side of the bridge and started casting 1/2 oz jigheads with 4 inch berkley gulps. it did not take long and nikki had the first picture fish of the day... ![]() well jeff would have none of that and he had his picture fish for the day... ![]() this went on for an hour and a half as both nikki and jeff caught plenty of BIG trout. they would throw up current count to 25 and slightly bump the lure back to the boat. nikki with the last fish of the day... ![]() now most of you know i am a gator fan but i was ok with a couple of buck eyes on the boat...yes i said a couple of things about the sec and the buck eyes record against the sec...lol we trolled for reds with S25's and caught on snag, a fishing line with a trout on the end of it and a boat going the opposite direction...after that we decided to go clean fish. stringer... 30 big white trout please visit my website at http://www.captwesrozier.com you will find reports, pricing and contact info to schedule your next fishing trip. tight lines capt wes |

Nice report and nice pics -- keeps us all hopeful!
Gulp shrimp? Hear more and more - just haven't made the investment yet. Did you catch the whites on the same rig? Thanks. |

I was out there, left Bahia Mar Marina at 2pm, arrived at the bridge and saw everyone anchored on the west side. Maybe due to the waves. We were in a 38' Houseboat, waves do not bother us toomuch.
Went to the east side, threw a Gulp, caught the first little one right away, cut it up and had a great day with 30 in the boat by 5 pm. Anchored three different places, for the fun of it, caught in all three. |
