Default Eglin AFB Flats Morning Redfish

Working the afternoon shift today so decided to out for some dawn patrol redfish. Arrived at Eglin at 6 am and the water was glass except forall the tails swirling.Waded out and dropped the first popping cork with dead shrimpin the middle of theswarm. By 6:15had my firstRedon andhe ended up being a slot at 22". Was planning on releasing himdue to the large number of fish in the sand holes, buthe had swallowed the hook and cuthis gills on retrieval. Kepthim for the grill and was home by 8:30 to see my son head to his second day of Pre K. Second picture is of my 2 year daughter inspecting dads catch.

I wade fish mainly around Fam camp just east of the marina and sometimes by postal point around the inlet and docks.
