Default Blackwater River 2/10

I was able to get off work a little early, so I took my paddle board out for about three hours from the Bagdad boat ramp. I was able to land three specks with two of them being around 16" and one about 10".

I'll try launching at the Oyster Boat ramp just up the road next time. Anyone else paddle board fish in the area?

I have a 10'6" board I got from Innerflight surf shop. It's definitely a good workout, you actually use a lot of your core muscles to balance and paddle. As for my setup I've included a picture. I got a suction fishing rod holder from Ram-Mount that I put on the front of the board. To hold down the cooler I got two sea sucker suction cups that are able to hold 120 lbs vertically and put them on the back of the board to have a place to tie down a 36qt cooler.

I can get in real shallow and be very quiet. I'm just learning the area right now and would like to start going out with others on the paddle board. As for bait, I used copper colored Berkley 5" shad jerk baits on 1/4 ounce jig head. The specks were in a channel that was about 8ft deep and about 75ft wide.

Very cool you can do any fishing from a surf board while standing up and paddling all at the same time.
