Default Big Striper

Jake and I hit Blackwater first thing Saturday morning. Pulled up to our first spot and starting throwing topwater near some dock lights near the mouth of the river. Second cast and this big girl knocked my plug about 6' up in the air. I immediately threw it back into the same area and the second time was the charm. This is my biggest Striper on artificial. She was released to fight another day!

That's a fine one! From the looks of her side, she's been fighting something besides you.

A friend caught one just shy of 40 pounds that had a series of scars on the top of its head. I told him that I remembered something hitting my trolling motor while fishing at night a few weeks earlier. I half joked at the time that it was probably a striper trying to eat my trolling motor. Could be....

barefoot,

I didn't measure her. Just took some video and put her back. She was over 30" and 20+ pounds. The picture doesn't really do her justice, she was thick!
