Default South Texas Fishing

Does anybody have any advice for fishing for south Texas trout? I want to make a trip out there this winter or early spring to catch a biggun.

Yeah, I have done some. I'm from Corpus Christi even though I live in Little Rock. If you're interested, here's a GREAT guide: fishlagunamadre@aol.com

His name is Capt Mike Singleterry and he's on heck of a trophy trout guide. Check out his website:

If you are looking to find big trout your best time will be from late Feb. thru Apr. Out of Corpus Christi I would look up Cliff Webb. Out of Baffin Bay try to get ahold of Aubrey Black (Capt. Blacks Outdoor Adventures)or out of Port Mansfield get ahold of Capt Tricia or Mike McBride.(Tricia and Mike aremarried and runSkinny WaterAdvenutres, Mike is alsoknown as McTrout)All of these specialize in wade fishing with artificial baitsand all are known forcatching big fish in the spring. Aubrey Black has lodging facilities as does Capt Tricia and Mike McBride. As a former guide in this area I know all of these folks persnoally, all are straight shooters and will do their best to accomadate your needs and wants. If you are considering the Rockport area I would go with Jay Watkins.
