Hello all! I will be visiting the area next week, and I'm planning on doing an inshore/near shore trip while I'm there. My question is, is there a big difference in fishing in these two areas? I've read that Pensacola bay has deeper waters, and that increases chances of catching fish that are normally caught further offshore in the Orange Beach area. My main goal is to bring back a cooler full of good eating fish to share with family and friends this summer. Which of these two spots would be better at helping me do that, and why? If Pensacola Bay is better without question, is there a charter captain you would recommend I fish with? I have one in mind for the OB area if I end up there, but I welcome any and all suggestions. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me!
A couple charter captains that can put you on a good mixed bag of fish in Pensacola:
Angler Up charters- Brant Peacher
Lost Bay guide services- Bill Willis
Hot Spots charts- they have multiple guides, all are very good
I'd like to catch a limit or close to it of sheepshead and flounder. I'd like to get a couple of redfish and grouper, and maybe a few trout, mackerel, and pompano. Thanks for the info so far on charters, I'm looking into all of them.
