Default Gulf Power Plant

Can anyone tell us where the canal is that goes to the Gulf Power Plant since in very cold weather, it is said that the warm water runoff from the power plant prompts many fish to congregate there? Is the canal deep enough for a boat and how deep? Thanks......AJ

Just run up escambia river from the swamp house. You will see it on the left where the barges enter.

There is really 3 different canals around gulf power, the one i like to work is the second one comming from swamp house,it gets about 2-3 foot at the entrance then average depth is around 6 to 8 ft.This canal runs all behind UWF and between the two runoff walls from the plant.Good fishing in there at times.

There are a couple spots they have for runoff and cooling water drains. The best way to learn anything about that area is to just head up there and look around. To hard to explain without taking you up there to show you.Getting a boat in and around there isn't a problem. The bite around there is hit and miss I haven't really caught anything around there worth reporting.

What are you fishing for up that way?
