I'm thinking of going to Blackwater River/Bay to look for Reds and Specks. I have never been there and looking for advice on where to go and how to get um. I live in Navarre and would like to head up Hwy 87 and put in somewhere in Milton--any advice?

You can put in at Bagdad. It is south of downtown milton. I'm new to fishing the river also but I've had a little luck for specks so far this year. I fished the points in the river south of the train tressel down towards I-10. I think the big specks haven't moved up in the river yet. I've only caught smaller ones. Good luck.
