Bait in the bay?

Planning to go out on Friday night and I know I will miss out on getting bait from the bait boat. any help out there on finding larger baits in the bay before I get outside? Cigs on the beach or large menhaden in the bay?

I haven't checked lately, but there should be plenty of big menhaden in Texar and probably in chico too. This is the time of year to load up on the big baits. Not sure about the cigs.
