Default Combined GPS numbers

I have been on a whirlwind of a ride the last day or two trying to collect all gps numbers I can possibly find, My original list was Escambia county list of all reefs and wrecks for recreational purposes. I added navionics wrecks that I found on my chip and then I stumbled acros NOAA database of all obstructions and wrecks, and last but not least I added the mbtdivers data.

Its all listed under three groups in the GPS file. Its more data than my hummingbird will take all at once. so you have to pick what you want and delete the rest or save it off somewhere.

pensacola folder is all the orginal data , escambia reefs, navionics
mmbtdivers folder is 950 listings from mbt divers
noaa8 is all of region 8 from noaa

i also included usr file for mbtdivers

Default ok here is all of the pensacola data seperated out

There are 4 groups of data,

1. Pensacola data is data I put in myself using navionics and EarthNC 271 gps points
2. Mbtdivers entire 950 gps points
3. NOAA region 8 data which is huge 1682 gps points
4. Florida states list of Reefs and wrecks 1687 gps points

all together some 4000 gps points, and from what I see it covers everything.

there are three file formats for each group and as an example

pensacola_hum.gpx is hummingbird gpx format
pensacola_gen.gpx is generic gpx format which will work with GPS Visualize
pensacola_low.usr is lowrance usr file

because of file limitations I had to upload 4 zip files

enjoy
Attached Files
File Type: zip florida.zip (110.0 KB, 303 views)
File Type: zip mbtdivers.zip (56.3 KB, 237 views)
File Type: zip NOAA8.zip (97.5 KB, 265 views)
File Type: zip pensacola.zip (18.7 KB, 294 views)

I know the title of the Forum is Pensacola, but would anyone happen to have a list like this of anything a bit more west? Like south of Mobile Bay.

Its not hard to do yourself. go to a site like

http://www.outdooralabama.com/fishin...oordinates.pdf

and cut and paste the data into a spreadsheet, then clean up the data deleting what you dont need. exports as csv file. change the name to .txt and open in text editor. there you can search and replace to put N and W in there. run it through a conversion program and then convert to your format. it takes a few hours but its worth it.

you are welcome. I work as a database administrator by day, so Its not a biggie to me, but you cant get around the labor part of cleaning up the data. there is no magic shortcut for that. I figured since I only fish pensacola twice a year, i would share with you guys and hopefully someone will find it useful.

Keep in mind that the greatest portion of MBT's #'s are a compilation of old spots that have weathered many storms. So take the bulk of them w a grain of salt. Especially those that were privately produced spots such as car bodies, tires, etc. But if you spend enough time checking them you're going to find a lot of stuff, independent of those #'s, that have been put down more recently. There will even be wrecks that are coincidently close to some of those #'s.
