Default Rebuild Northwest Florida

http://www.fema.gov/medialibrary/media_records/942

This is the link to the FEMA site that best describes Rebuild Northwest Florida. It's only a few minutes long but explains the whole process by a homeowner here in Pensacola that did this program. My parents, sister and several thousand other Escambia and Santa Rosa County residents have benefitted from this program.

Not a scam at all. Check into itto lower your homeowner's insurance. In most casesthe homeowner willrecoup the cost of your 25% of the total amount of this program to "harden" your home in less than 5 years.

My mother in law and father in law did this . Took them about a week to complete and there home built in early 80s is now like a fortress. They did put in new impact resistant windows on there own. But Rebuild northwest Florida I think its called, glued there plywood to the trusses , install hurricane clips throughout, installed all new aluminum hurricane panels , and a New back door . There is a requirement that only so much glass can be on the door. I dont know if they are still doing this but it was great for them. We did not qualify.

I signed up today. I figure I have been telling people about this for a while and I should jump on board. Escambia County wait time is 30 days and Santa Rosa county is much longer due to funds. They pay 75% you pay 25%. With the insurance discounts this should white wash in a year or so.

Go figure because that's right, Escambia County is the only coastal county in NW Florida :doh How the hell do they have the nerve to call it Rebuild NW Florida, they need to change the name to Rebuild Escambia County :banghead

TO ADD SOME ASSISTANCE TO THIS TOPIC. REBUILD NORTHWEST FLORIDA RECEIVES GRANT MONIES FROM FEMA.

SANTA ROSA COUNTY HAD SPENT MOST OF THEIR GRANT MONEY ON ROAD AND STORMWATER IMPROVEMENTS.

AS OTHER GRANT APPLICANTS EITHER WITHDRAW OR LOSE THEIR EAR-MARKED FUNDS. REBUILD APPLIES FOR THOSE

FUNDS RIGHT AWAY, FOR ESCAMBIA AND SANTA ROSA COUNTIES. REBUILD WOULD LIKE THE PROGRAM TO WORK

IN SANTA ROSA AS IT DOES IN ESCAMBIA, BUT THAT IS UP TOTHE ELECTED OFFICIALS IN SANTA ROSA.

REBUILD IS STILL PURSUING GRANTS FOR BOTH COUNTIES, SO KEEP CHECKING THEIR WEBSITE www.rebuildnwf.org

FOR SANTA ROSA COUNTY TO OPEN UP AGAIN. REMEMBER THEY ARE A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION SO THE PERSON

ANSWERING THEIR PHONES MAY NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE PROCESS WORKS ENTIRELY.

I HOPE THIS HELPS CLEAR-UP ANY CONFUSSION.

GOOD LUCK,

SPIKE

I'm in Okaloosa County so it looks like I'm out of luck regardless!

Bringing this back up for information. I had them come out to inspect in December. They said it might be several months. Is this normal wait time?
