I know one thing, it's got the water up over here in Perdido Key about 2-3 feet higher than normal.

dpewitt (9/11/2008)where are you guys seeing it will not move east to LA? Everything I am seeing has it still hitting south of Houston/Galveston in less than 48 hours, then coming and passing through Dallas Sat night or Sunday AM. Local projections for Dallas say the eye will be within 50 miles of Dallas, sustained winds at 45 MPH and gusts to 80 here in Dallas. Should make for a fun weekend up here.
yesterday it was it had a far more northly movement. Even stalled there for a bit. So looking at the actual track it appeared LA could be back in the hunt. This morning it started its westwardly turn. On the map below, take out that last point and look at where it appeared to be heading. Add that last point and you see its back on track with the forecast

Anybody have a handle on when the "peak surge" will be at Pensacola Beach? High tide was around 9 AM - If it gets 6-12 inches higher, we won't be able to drive our vehicles from the EPA Lab.
