Default What 2 stroke oil ???

Just got an "05" Johnson 150 two stroke and have always just used the Penzoil two stroke oil, will this be ok in this motor ???????

Should be ok, but you can also buy the Johnson/Evinrude oil at Wal-Mart. I have also used Valvoline oil (I think that's what it is).

Get a few gallons and keep at least one or two on the boat. Just my two cents. Peace.

I've always used the engine manufacturer's oil - don't think you can go wrong with that. Best advice I've heard from several engine mechanics was to stick with the same brand - try not to mix brands. Different chemical makeups. There are a few marine mechanics on this site - might want to pose the question to them. I'm sure they'll steer you in the right direction.

Some brands will gel up when mixed together. It happened in a Suzuki of ours many years ago.
