Question Tilt trim question

Ok here we go.... I just bought a boat with a 1999 Johnson 60 hp, everything seems to work great on it except for the tilt trim at the control and the electronic choke when you push the key in. Everything else about the motor is great! Now here is my question: What would cause the tilt trim to not work at the control but work great at the engine switch? Im assuming that it is the switch or the wiring to the control seeing as the electric choke button doesn't work either.... I would like someone with a little more experience than I have to chime in on this before I go to wasting my time on trial and error, unless thats what it takes. Anyway, Thanks in advance!!!

You are on the right track, if it works at the engine switch, but not at the helm, my guess would be the helm switch and or wiring, probably just the switch, we replace them quite often.

Some of the older Evinrude tilt/trim switches can be taken apart and the contacts cleaned. If not, new ones are available.
