I have twin 150 Evinrudes with hydraulic steering. A few months back the steering wheel started to just spin free without resistance. I added some fluid at the sterring reservoir and got it working again. Thought the problem was fixed but apparently only beginning.
Now the steering again spins freely without resistance and there is plenty of fluid. Bled the system at the cylinder attached to the motors but no luck. Any suggestions before I have to take it somwhere and spend lots of money? Thanks |

Rusty,
Check for a valve on top of your steering wheel housing. The crew from the Maddie D saved my bacon with that tip one morning. Try twisting that little valve and you might get an audible hiss of air escaping your system. Good luck! |
