Default Outboard question

Started my Merc 60hp after a few months of just sitting...It starts up just fine. The problem is that it keeps missing and will cut out in neutral. I did not have a full tank of gas and I put just a small amount of Sta-bil about three months ago. Does this sound like bad gas/water in my tank?? The motor is just a year old and has a few hours on it. Is there an additive I can put into my tank to boost my old gas??? Any help would great.

Thanks

Chris

Most likely carbs dirty from sitting. There are additives you can try first before you pull or have the carbs pulled and cleaned. Try a good fuel system cleaner in the tank. Even putting additives in the gas won't help if you have bad gas though. If the tank is portable/removable, then empty it and start fresh.
